Hi, I'm Erica!
In 2006 I was obese, smoked a pack of cigarettes a day, hadn’t exercised in years, and lived off a diet of overly processed ‘Frankenstein’ foods. I was depressed, lethargic, sickly and ashamed of my appearance.
In 2007 I became a vegetarian and started to limit my junk food and sugar.
By 2009 I managed to lose 50 pounds over two years through eating less, and exercising more (no quick fixes!) and I quit smoking!
I thrive off of helping others reach their goals. In addition to being a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor, I also have my Masters in Psychology and have been teaching at the college level since 2007. I love teaching, and I love helping others met their goals. Want to lose weight? Run a marathon? Be happier? Have more money? Whatever it is, I would love to help you get there!
So, what will you find on this site? Everything from fitness tips and quick healthy meal recipes to DIY craft projects and budgeting advice. Oh, and lots of cat photos
10 Things About Me:
I really, really love cats. We are a blended cat family with my husband bringing two into the mix and I have one extremely fat, FIV+ cat named Salem.
When I turned 30 I picked a random city to fly to, alone and with no agenda, for my first solo vacation. I made friends there by just tweeting, “I’m in Chicago – who wants to hang out?” It was incredible!
I went from running my first 5k to my first marathon in one year. I ran two more marathons in the following 12 months. I have a bit of an addictive personality!
I met my husband online and fell in love with him the moment I saw his cat tattoos.
We were married in 2014 at the Pensacola Museum of Art. The entire cost of our wedding and reception was $1800!
We welcomed our first child in September 2015!
As a military family we get to move a lot. In 2016, we headed to Alaska with three cats and a newborn. We love the outdoors and have been having the adventure of a lifetime!
I’m able to work from home thanks to this blog and other side hustles. Blogging has been the greatest job I’ve ever had and I love helping other bloggers find out how to optimize their earning potential.
I love 90s television shows. We haven’t had cable in years, and when I do watch TV I usually rotate between Buffy, Sabrina, and 90210. #TeamBrenda
I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. I dream of going back to school and if I ever win the lottery and collecting degrees.
